Role Overview
Vision Street invites passionate and emerging creatives to apply for the Boom Swinger / Sound Intern position within their Television Production Department in Maseru, Lesotho. This internship provides aspiring media practitioners with hands-on experience in capturing professional location sound and working alongside experienced production teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will assist the sound department in capturing clean dialogue during filming. Responsibilities include operating and positioning the boom microphone under supervision, keeping the microphone close to the source outside the camera frame, monitoring environmental noise, handling cables and transmitters, preparing equipment, and following instructions from the Sound Recordist and Director.
Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in sound recording, good listening skills, spatial awareness, and the physical ability to hold a boom microphone for extended periods. Candidates must be able to work quietly, communicate effectively, and follow instructions accurately. While previous sound experience or basic knowledge of audio equipment is advantageous, it is not strictly required.
